Membership explained

Mereweg is a membership-led organisation. It brings together people working across every part of England’s blue economy to drive innovation and growth, support collaboration and create networking opportunities, in the UK and internationally.

Who can join

Membership is open to everyone working in the blue economy: businesses, non-profits, academia and research, investors and startups. Members include organisations from shipping, technology, tourism, fisheries and aquaculture, finance, energy, academia, research institutions and non-profits.

What members get

  • Access to the Mereweg network, with introductions to members and partners
  • Access to Mereweg events and partner events
  • The opportunity to promote your organisation’s news and events through the newsletter, website and social media
  • Invitations to join international delegation trips and to take part in events welcoming international delegates to the UK

Why early-stage startups join for free

Early-stage startups are invited to join for free. Mereweg believes in supporting their growth, and a cluster is stronger when its newest and most innovative companies are part of it from the start.

Strategic partnerships

Members can also become strategic partners, which raises their profile beyond the membership itself. Strategic partners get enhanced benefits:

  • The opportunity to sit on the steering committee advising Mereweg’s work
  • A say in Mereweg’s strategies for specific blue economy sectors
  • An exclusive sponsored event during the year
  • Visibility on the website and in the newsletter

How to join

Fill in the membership form with a few details about your organisation, and say whether you are interested in a strategic partnership. Mereweg will be in touch with next steps and pricing.
